University of Iowa Health Care department of Health Care Information Systems is seeking an Application Developer to provide technical and project management support for the design, configuration and implementation of various communication solutions for UI Health Care and UI Health Care Community Connect partnerships. This position will also provide technical support related to the ongoing maintenance of these solutions, including consultation, training and integration into clinical and business operations.

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location .

This position will support the UI Health Care's Community Connect Iowa program, which extends our Epic applications to regional hospitals and clinics.

Core Job Duties:

Provide technical consultation and recommendations in the design/development of new or revised applications related to enterprise communication and collaboration solutions. Support UI Health Care and UI Health Care Community Connect initiatives of varying size and scope by developing project plans and assisting project teams in meeting goals and objectives. Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance for user community to resolve technical issues and concerns. Support ongoing maintenance and documentation of enterprise communication solutions and applications through testing and upgrade activities. Collaborate with customers to identify functional requirements for communication and collaboration systems offerings. Collaborate and establish strong working relationships with customers, vendors and peers to support communication solutions. Suggest, support development and maintain detailed support plans associated with ongoing maintenance and support of communication and collaboration systems service lines and related applications. Research, review, troubleshoot and analyze system opportunities and problems to identify solutions and/or make appropriate referrals. May travel to customer sites in support of the implementation or upgrade of mobility and other communication systems services. Assist with triage of customer support calls from users 8-5 Monday-Friday. Provide some 24x7 on-call support Position Responsibilities:

Analysis/Design

Research system solutions Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze workflows and develop application design Create functional/technical specifications for system build and complex integrated systems Implementation

Configure and customize applications Review the application build for efficiency, completeness, and correctness Perform unit and integrated testing of assigned application workflows. Support and Maintenance

Troubleshoot/debug and identify malfunctioning systems. Implement fixes Develop and maintain testing scripts for execution during special update and system upgrade cycles Resolve complex system problems through participation in on-call rotations Document system design and build Project Management

Create work plans and provide oversight for assigned projects Define customer requirements for implementation. Monitor and report progress of work plans Business Analysis

Evaluate system upgrades to identify new functionality. Demonstrate features to the user community and assess applicability, impact and value. Optimize workflows with new/modified functionality. Leadership/Staff Management/Financial Responsibilities

Recognize IT Service Management practices. Understood and adhere to Change Management policies and procedures. Understand and adhere to IT Security policies and procedures. Travel to customer sites to support application implementation, upgrade, and/or optimization. Education Required:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related application development/support experience Required Qualifications:

Some current relevant experience, typically 3-5 years, in the development and/or support of applications used by non- technical customers to support and enhance business processes Experience contributing to an integrated information system implementation cycle though areas such as design, workflow analysis, build, training, implementation, testing, and support Demonstrated experience working with end-users to define system requirements, understand business needs and convert business requirements into functional/technical specifications for complex integrated systems Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently as well as cooperatively with others, with a strong focus on customer service. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staff A valid driver's license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety requirements Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. Desirable Qualifications:

Knowledge of and experience with any of the following workflows: scheduling, referrals, ambulatory or inpatient clinical documentation, patient EHR portals, and telemedicine Experience working with and supporting any of the following communication systems: Epic Secure Chat, SMS messaging platforms, Voalte, Stanley Healthcare RTLS, Spok/Amcom, emergency notification systems, RF paging system/pagers, other mobile communication systems, preferably in a healthcare setting. Project Management experience implementing and managing multiple small to large-scale projects Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical staff on system implementation projects; including development of system and process documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, OneNote, PowerPoint).
