Title: Unix Support
Location:- O'Fallon, MO (Hybrid)
12 Months Contract or FTE
Project Scope:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Unix Support Engineer to join our Production Support team. The ideal candidate will have a strong L2 support background, hands-on experience with Unix, SQL, and Oracle DB, and expertise in cloud technologies such as AWS or PCF. This role demands a solid understanding of ITSM processes and excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and ensure system stability. Key Responsibilities:
Provide L2 production support for Unix-based systems and applications Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents related to Unix, SQL, and Oracle DB Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure system reliability Manage and support cloud-based environments (AWS or PCF) Adhere to ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management Document support procedures, resolutions, and system configurations Participate in on-call rotation and support weekend deployments as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong L2 Production Support experience Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments Hands-on experience with SQL and Oracle DB Working knowledge of one cloud platform: AWS or PCF (mandatory) Solid understanding of ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
