As a Senior Data Privacy Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our organization maintains the highest standards of data privacy compliance. You will be part of a dedicated team that educates colleagues, oversees compliance frameworks, and promotes a culture of data stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Education:
Train and inform associates about essential data privacy regulations and compliant data handling practices. Audit Management:
Conduct thorough audits to ensure adherence to data privacy laws and proactively address potential compliance issues. Regulatory Liaison:
Serve as the main contact for data privacy matters between our organization and regulatory authorities. Data Subject Interaction:
Guide individuals about their data rights and our protective measures for their information. Data Privacy Compliance: Law Monitoring:
Stay updated on data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ensure our practices meet regulatory requirements. Impact Assessments:
Perform data privacy impact assessments to identify and mitigate risks associated with data processing. Records Management:
Maintain precise records of data processing activities and regularly report findings to management. Information Security Oversight: Interdepartmental Collaboration:
Work with legal, IT, and operational teams to embed privacy considerations in business operations. Incident Response:
Manage plans for responding to privacy incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and reporting. Vendor Management:
Evaluate third-party vendors for compliance with our data privacy standards. Awareness and Training: Training Development:
Create and deliver data privacy training programs for all associates, fostering a culture of privacy awareness. Data Stewardship Promotion:
Encourage responsible handling of sensitive data across the organization. Stakeholder Management: Main Contact:
Act as the primary point of contact for data privacy concerns among internal and external stakeholders. Leadership Advisory:
Advise executives on data privacy implications of new technologies and initiatives. Collaboration with Compliance Teams:
Partner with legal teams to ensure comprehensive compliance with data protection regulations. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of data privacy laws (CCPA, GLBA, FCRA, BSA). Experience in information security practices and risk management. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication abilities. Proven track record in developing and executing data privacy policies. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Governance, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years in a relevant role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in IAM concepts: RBAC, SAML, AD, LDAP. Experience with data governance frameworks. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
