Eurofins Built Environment Testing is proactively seeking a
temp -to hire
Microbiology Laboratory Technician
to join our Naperville site. This position will be offered as a temporary position, with a review after 90 days to confirm if a full time position would be offered. The position can also be offered as temporary, if preferred.
The Microbiology Technician will need a solid understanding of microbiological techniques, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, repetitive environment.
Sucessful training for position must be completed within two weeks of the start date. Training will consist of filtering and plating biological concentrates.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine microbiological laboratory procedures and analyses
Maintain, calibrate, clean and test sterility of lab equipment
Isolate and make cultures of bacteria or other microorganisms
Document all data and results in specified forms
Conduct microbial analyses of samples collected from various sources
Adhere to correct procedures, policies, and health/safety guidelines
Prepare specimens and samples for testing
Work in compliance with laboratory safety standards
Prepare detailed reports of laboratory results and findings
Qualifications: Qualifications
Associates or BS degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
Proven work experience as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician or in transferable laboratory setting
Hands-on experience with relevant equipment, procedures, and safety regulations
Knowledge of modern microbiological techniques
Experience in preparing cultures of bacteria and other microorganisms
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
Additional Information
Position is located onsite, at our Napeverville location. Hours would be Monday- Friday, 10 AM- 6 PM with occasional weekend work and mandatory OT as needed. Time may be flexible depending on workload.
Position Range- $20.00- $22.00/hr
depending on experience.
Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business section, and geographic location
