Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced continuous improvement professional to lead the development and implementation of Story's continuous improvement program - The Story Way. The individual will be responsible for sustaining, deepening, and evolving the Story Way as the living foundation of how the company operates. This position leads the company-wide development and deployment of the Story Way's principles, values and routines, ensuring that our philosophy is fully embedded in how we lead people, improve processes, solve problems, and deliver customer value. Through coaching, collaboration, and cultural alignment, the Story Way Development & Deployment Manager stewards the growth of the Story Way across the company.

Summary of Duties:

Champions the continued development and implementation of the Story Way program utilizing principles from Training within Industry (TWI), Shingo, Kata, and the Toyota Way, ensuring consistency and clarity in messaging. Drive utilization of Training Within Industry (TWI) routines including Job Relations and Job Instruction; continue the development and deployment of Work Methods and conduct workshops for the continued development and improvement of Work Standards, bringing together cross-functional teams to solve problems with diverse perspectives. Coach and support internal leaders in developing facilitative leadership capabilities through the coaching routine and job relations, cultivating a people-first leadership culture. Leads the education, continued development, improvement, and implementation of Construction Production 2.0, ensuring consistent and accurate adoption across all jobsites. Drive a culture of scientific thinking by promoting incremental and intentional continuous improvements that result in compounding learning that addresses inefficiencies, removes waste, drives innovation and leads to new learning through experimentation. Leads the Story Way Steering Committee, guiding the strategic direction, adopting, and evolution of the Story Way now and in the future. Facilitate and teach the Story Way Leadership class to both internal and external stakeholders, strengthening leadership alignment with company values and systems. Advocates for a culture of respect, trust, collaboration, and teamwork by identifying and modeling ideal behaviors and defined outcomes. Represent and promote the Story Way across the construction industry by sharing insights with industry partners and presenting at conferences and other promotional events and activities. Stay current on continuous improvement trends and practices through ongoing education and participation in relevant professional groups, events, and conferences. Develop and manage systems to track the adoption, effectiveness, and impact of the Story Way, using data to drive iteration and alignment. Collaborate cross-functionally and with Sr. Leadership to align company rocks and initiatives with Story Way implementation and growth. Partner with Sr. leadership on change initiatives that impact people, processes, and performance, clearly communicating the "why" behind change efforts and overcoming resistance through structured coaching and involvement. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, industrial engineering, or other relevant program is preferred but not required. 10+ years of demonstrated experience in operations, training, organizational development, and continuous improvement required. Experience in construction operations is preferred. Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Shingo, TWI, Kata, and the Toyota Way. Demonstrated success implementing structured systems and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Strong skills in communication, public speaking, relationship-building, coaching/training, and influence. Travel: Occasional out-of-town and overnight travel expected.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

Primarily work out of the corporate office; however, may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards when visited the jobsite. Employees may be exposed to outdoor conditions that include inclement weather such as heat, humidity, cold, wind, and dust. May be expected to carry up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, stand for long periods of time, walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue.
