The Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of standard industrial instruments. This role involves hands-on field work and regular travel to customer sites to support commissioning, diagnostics, and system integration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial instrumentation, including experience with HART transmitters and other common field devices. Familiarity with automation environments, such as advanced manufacturing facilities, is also highly desirable.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain industrial instrumentation including but not limited to pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors. Calibrate and troubleshoot HART and other smart transmitters. Interface with control systems (PLC/DCS) and ensure proper signal integration. Perform loop checks and system verifications during commissioning. Document field activities, calibration reports, and service logs. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during all field operations. Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure successful project execution. Travel to customer locations as required (up to 50%). Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Electrical Engineering (EE) required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation or a related field. Proficiency with industrial instrumentation and control systems. Strong understanding of HART protocol and fieldbus communication. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction. Self-motivated and capable of working independently in the field. Experience working in industrial environments. Experience working with automation environments such as advanced manufacturing plants, laboratories or warehouses is considered a strong asset. Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a dynamic field environment. Collaborative mindset and the ability to work well across multidisciplinary teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for documentation, communication, and reporting.
