JOB SUMMARY
The IT Access Administrator is responsible for managing user access across the organization's systems, ensuring that employees, contractors, and partners have the appropriate access to perform their roles. This role requires a strong understanding of access control concepts, identity lifecycle processes, and security best practices. The Access Administrator collaborates closely with HR, IT, and business units to support secure, compliant, and efficient access operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer user accounts and permissions across Active Directory, Azure AD, cloud platforms, and business applications. Process access requests, onboarding/offboarding, and role changes using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira). Ensure access assignments align with organizational policies and role-based access control (RBAC) principles. Monitor and manage daily access provisioning tasks, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and documentation. Assist in periodic access reviews, audits, and certifications to maintain compliance with SOX, HIPAA, or other regulatory requirements. Support and maintain IAM tools and systems (e.g., SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID). Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams on IAM-related improvements and remediation efforts. Respond to access-related incidents or service escalations with appropriate troubleshooting and documentation. Contribute to IAM documentation, workflows, and standard operating procedures. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate access management processes. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficiency in Active Directory, Azure AD, group policy, and Microsoft 365 access management. Familiarity with IAM concepts such as RBAC, least privilege, and identity lifecycle. Experience working with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) and access request workflows. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 2-4 years of experience in IT support, IAM, or system administration roles. Preferred:
Experience with one or more IAM platforms (e.g., Okta, SailPoint, CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID). Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, ISO 27001, GDPR). Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-300, or ITIL Foundations.
