Job Opportunity:

Easter Seals of Greater Houston, a leading provider of service to people of all ages, with any type of disability, is currently seeking an experienced Adult Program Coordinator. This staff person will direct Adult Programs and other recreational services in the Houston and surrounding areas in accordance with approved program policies and methods, consistent with the requirements of funding sources and professional best practices.

Position Type:

Full-time (40 hrs.), including some evening and weekend work

Location:

Houston, Texas

Key Responsibilities:

Create, plan, and execute year-round programming for individuals with disabilities, from the registration process to program implementation to program close-out.

Act as on-site director for year-round Adult Program. Position also has potential to include programming for weekly play groups and weekend day camp.

Serve as a point-of-entry for prospective Easter Seals clients and volunteers; intaking them for Adult Program, and/or referring them to other programs or resources.

Recruit, train, and manage volunteers, collaborate with partner organizations, and serve as an ambassador for Easter Seals at community events and presentations.

Essential Qualifications & Leadership Qualities:

2+ years activity planning experience, with leadership experience preferred

Experience creating and implementing cognitively and physically appropriate recreational activities for clients

Organized, adaptable, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook

Able to effectively train and mentor volunteers and interns, including modeling effective behavior, explaining diagnoses and their presentation, and implementing behavior management strategies

Must maintain current Driver's license and appropriate car insurance

Preferred qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Experience working with individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, neurological disorders, and development delays

Leadership role at a recreational program
