Software Developer

who will help scale the core of our tech platform by delivering high-quality, high-impact features that our real estate customers love. You'll join a small, fast-moving team of senior operators, working on meaningful problems with no bureaucracy and full ownership of your craft. From system design to shipping code that touches thousands of users, you're going to play a pivotal role in shaping our product's future!

This position is a full time position located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

What Will You Do?

Collaborate across disciplines to define, design, and ship high-quality features

Architect and build end-to-end systems: RESTful APIs, data models, infrastructure, and UI

Lead by example in code quality, architecture decisions, and engineering best practices

Optimize application performance, scalability, and developer ergonomics

Conduct code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level engineers

Take ownership of technical outcomes and product direction

Contribute to Agile team ceremonies like sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives

What Big Things Will You Own? At first…

Take full ownership of one major feature set in our customer portal

Refactor existing systems for improved performance and scalability

Collaborate with the CTO and Product team to reduce technical debt

Establish clean documentation and onboarding guides for our growing engineering org

Once you get your footing…

Drive long-term architectural improvements across Wise Pelican's platform

Champion engineering initiatives that improve code health, performance, and developer velocity

Mentor and coach junior and offshore developers as a technical thought partner

Who Are You?

5+ years of experience building fullstack web applications

Deep experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (TypeScript, React or Next.js, Node.js)

Experience designing and building REST APIs, integrating with PostgreSQL, and working in AWS

Solid understanding of CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Docker, and cloud-based microservices

Clear communicator with a collaborative, product-focused mindset

Strong debugging skills and an ability to simplify complexity

A builder at heart—motivated by progress and business impact, not just perfect code

Where Can You Easily Impress Us?

Experience with Angular or MongoDB

Hands-on knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (AWS CDK, Terraform, etc.)

Exposure to RAG systems, internal developer platforms, or schema-based workflows

Familiarity with GIS data or mapping tools like Leaflet, Mapbox, or Turf.js

A killer portfolio or meaningful open-source contributions

Compensation

: This role is currently benchmarked by industry standards and ranges from

$110,000-$140,000 . Offered compensation is based on merit and relevant qualifications.
