SALARY: $22.35 per hour Commensurate to experience.

This position is non-exempt/ hourly/part-time/partially benefited

BENEFITS: Partially benefited. Partially benefited part-time employees earn 1 sick leave hour for every 30 hours worked. Up to 48 hours can be rolled over per year.

SCHEDULE/REMOTE/HYBRID: The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Remote, hybrid, and/or flexible scheduling may be discussed upon hire and supervisor approval.

RELOCATION: This position is located in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Relocation assistance is not provided.

REQUIREMENTS: One to four years of experience with data analysis or related field. Enrolled to obtain or currently holding a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in data analysis, geographic information systems, computer science, urban planning, engineering, or related field. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to obtain coverage by the City's insurance carrier. Meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodation, including frequently sitting at computer for several hours; walking or standing for brief periods of time; talking to and hearing customers on telephone and in person; manual dexterity to search through files and control objects; reaching with hands and arms; and stooping, bending, and kneeling.

The City of Greenwood Village welcomes your application for the Data Analyst Intern position within our Parks, Trails and Recreation. The purpose of this position is to perform tasks related to data collection and analysis in support of the City's Parks, Trails, and Recreation (PTR) Department's capital projects, existing assets, and long-term planning. Work will include both collecting new field data as well as correcting and updating existing data within the City's GIS database and other databases. A typical task may involve analyzing the irrigation system of a park to determine the ideal water use based on the existing landscaping and irrigation infrastructure.

The position is ideal for a current data analysis student focused on sustainability and looking for a flexible working environment to apply their studies to impact real-world operations.

As a municipal organization, Greenwood Village is a provider of emergency services. Some emergency situations, including weather-related emergencies, may necessitate Greenwood Village employees to assist in areas of work that may not be directly related to the employee's specific job function, but which will be within the physical capabilities, training, and skills of the employee.

Essential Functions:

A. Operational Responsibilities Performs data input, data analysis, and production of data sets in various forms (GIS, maps, spreadsheets, charts, graphs, etc.). Collects field data, including the operation of field equipment, in City open spaces, parks, and trails. Coordinates with the GIS Administrator in IT for map layers, feature sets, and database structure. Collaborates and confers with PTR staff for input and applications. Assist in carrying out supervised quality control and assurance on the data. Develop simple automation processes and scripts under supervision. B. Miscellaneous Duties

Provides back-up support to other PTR staff. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required. Position requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic data analysis and database functions, inputs, and uses. Principles and operating procedures for computer systems. Windows-based software applications including spreadsheets, word processing, presentation graphics, and desktop publishing. Microsoft Windows desktop and mobile operating systems. Management of geospatial and tabular data using standard industry tools. Principles and procedures of record keeping, documentation, and reporting. Research techniques, methods, and procedures. Safe driving principles and practices. Use, application, and administration of ESRI GIS technologies. Gather, manipulate, analyze, interpret, and present data. Perform analysis of project goals and requirements to select data sources and develop appropriate mapping methods and graphic displays. Read and interpret maps, plats, and aerial photographs. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Operate a variety of highly technical computer equipment and related peripheral equipment. Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records. Respond to requests and inquiries from staff. Operate modern office equipment. Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs. Operate a motor vehicle safely. Experience and Training:

One to four years of experience with data analysis or related field. Enrolled to obtain or currently holding a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in geographic information systems, computer science, urban planning, engineering, or related field. Licenses or Certificates:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to obtain coverage by the City's insurance carrier.

Contact with Others:

Primary contact within the organization is with direct supervisor, department representatives, and GIS Administrator. This includes all users of technology services. Primary external contacts are with third-party software vendors, other government agencies, and professional GIS organizations.

Supervisory Requirements:

Receives direction from Parks, Trails, and Recreation Senior Project Manager. Exercises no supervision.

Working Conditions:

Office environment, sitting at a computer for several hours a day. Will occasionally need to operate a motor vehicle to various locations for meetings and/or trainings. Should be able to coordinate a variety of activities and programs and work effectively with other City employees.

Must be physically capable of safely moving about in parks and open space areas.
