Location: Torrington EdAdvance is one of Connecticut's six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs). EdAdvance is also a partner in the RESC Alliance and works collaboratively with the other RESC groups to support state-wide initiatives.

Custodian Full Time - Annual Calendar - 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Salary: Commensurate with Experience Competitive Benefits Package Location based upon the needs of the agency in the Torrington area

Major Responsibilities :

Be available to cover other Custodian's shifts for scheduled days off, including evenings or weekends. Respond to after-hours building emergencies in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas, including offices, classrooms, conference rooms, and restrooms (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and general cleaning). Perform minor repairs and report issues that require professional attention. Set up and break down furniture and equipment for meetings, events and activities. Comply with safety standards related to trash removal, fire prevention, and proper storage of cleaning products and supplies. Perform routine building walkthroughs at the start of each shift; secure the building at the end of the shift, following established safety procedures. Monitor equipment and supplies, using checklists to ensure proper operation and inventory. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Facilities

The Custodian works under the supervision of the Director of Facilities.

Qualifications/Requirements

:

Prior custodial experience preferred Ability to work independently, use sound judgement, and take initiative. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Effective time management and task prioritization skills. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel between sites, as needed. Must have flexibility to work early, late or weekends, on short notice. Comfortable working in environments serving children. Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential.
