Description
Summary
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Provider by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides front-office assistance. Provide telephone coverage, greet patients and schedule appointments. Other duties as assigned. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment. Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials. Performs x-rays (based on certification), electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests. Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests. Register patients in all required information systems. Schedules appointments, receives money for bills, keeps x-ray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes insurance forms. Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records. Maintain all required clinic logs. Responsible for completing all prior authorizations.
Education and/or Experience
Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual preferred
