Clinical Assistant - AFO - St. Petersburg Area

Position Summary:
At Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Clinical Assistants are more than clinical support, they are essential members of the patient care team. In this full-time role, you'll work directly with a provider to deliver efficient, high-quality orthopedic care in a fast-paced clinical environment. You'll assist with exams, procedures, and patient education while ensuring each individual feels supported and cared for throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support Prepare exam rooms and ensure they are fully stocked and organized for the day Escort patients to rooms, take vital signs, and update EMR with accurate documentation Assist with in-office procedures including injections, dressing changes, and suture removals Support provider during exams by anticipating needs and maintaining patient comfort Educate patients on post-visit instructions and coordinate follow-ups as directed Patient Flow & Teamwork
Collaborate with fellow CAs, providers, and administrative staff to keep the clinic running smoothly Communicate clearly with patients and teammates to reduce delays and confusion Float to nearby clinics as needed to support staffing coverage and team success Compliance & Documentation
Ensure timely, accurate charting and quality measure completion in Athena EMR Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards Participate in training, team huddles, and clinic initiatives as assigned What Makes You a Great Fit:

High school diploma or equivalent (required) Medical Assistant diploma or certification (required) BLS certification (required within 90 days of hire and FOI offers in-house training) Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel locally for training/coverage Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in orthopedics, trauma, or high-volume clinical settings Familiarity with Athena EMR or similar systems Prior experience assisting with procedures such as injections or suture removal Why Join FOI?
