Job Description Job Title: CT/X-ray Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist, CT Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4-10 hours per day, Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week with rotation of weekends and call Experience: Minimum 1 year experience working as a CT or X-Ray technologist License: R.T.(R)(ARRT) Certifications: Required
Must-Have: 1 year experience working as a CT or X-Ray technologist.
Description: The CT/X-ray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards. Essential functions include producing emergent and routine diagnostic images with fixed and portable X-ray equipment. The technologist also produces routine and emergent diagnostic images using the CT Room. They must adjust exposure settings for proper image acquisition. Positioning patients correctly is crucial to acquire optimal images based on anatomical structures. Adjustments to the table and radiation beam are necessary to minimize radiation exposure and maximize patient protection (ALARA). The technologist processes images in a PACS system for the Radiologist. They complete exams per Radiologist protocols. Documentation, charging, and processing should be done with electronic medical records. Scheduling appointments for patients in various imaging modalities is part of the role. The technologist informs and assists patients with contrast media administration for CT exams. They are involved with quality control regarding equipment, radiation safety, and patient safety. Ensuring exams are completed correctly and in a timely manner is essential. Providing excellent customer service to patients and staff is also required.
