Job Description: A Level 3+ Network Engineer specializing in Cisco LAN, Cisco & Meraki wireless, SDWAN and Palo alto firewall typically has a range of responsibilities and qualifications. Responsibilities:
Design, Implementation, and Maintenance:
Design, configure, and install network solutions, including LAN, WAN, wireless networks and Palo alto firewall Implement and maintain Cisco and Meraki wireless solutions, ensuring optimal performance and security. Manage and configure Palo alto firewall and security policies. Working knowledge on Palo Alto firewall at L2+ Migration of LAN and WAN to KGS network Work with service provider to commission WAN circuits & rollout managed SDWAN solution Ensure optimal performance and security of the network infrastructure.
Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to routers, switches, wireless access points and firewall Provide advanced support for network problems, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution.
Security and Compliance:
Implement security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption, to protect network data. Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Document network configurations, changes, and procedures. Generate reports on network performance, incidents, and resolutions.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support network-related projects. Provide technical assistance and training to end-users and junior network engineers.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, Meraki certifications, Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)/equivalent certifications on Palo alto firewall.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on Cisco and Meraki technologies. Proven experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of networking protocols - HSRP/VRRP, DTP, Stacking , and routing (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP). Deep knowledge of wireless technologies - 802.11a/b/g/n, 802.11ab, Wi-Fi -6 Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco and Meraki wireless solutions. Experience with Cisco Client for network access control -
Ability to configure & manage endpoints for certificate based authentication Ability to enhance the solution for posture validation as part of modernization Knowledge on managing guest access including portal & process
Proficiency in configuring and managing SD-WAN preferably Aruba solutions or having knowledge of other SDWAN solutions and willingness to learn Aruba Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and security solutions.
