Responsibilities:
The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer will support Barrow Wise's project and perform the following duties:
Design and deploy secure, non-persistent VDI pools for up to 500 users. Ensure GPU-accelerated sessions, SSO integration with Entra ID, and strong session control. Harden Linux desktops (RHEL 9.2 or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS). Provide Day-2 operations scripts and training documentation. Monitor VDI performance, analyzing resource usage, and identifying potential bottlenecks or issues. Utilize software tools to gather metrics on user experience, latency, and system health. Implement security best practices for virtual desktops, including user authentication, data encryption, and compliance with industry standards. Work remotely. An ideal candidate has the following:
Bachelor's degree 7 years of experience in implementing VMware, Aria Suite, and complex systems Certification in VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Skills: Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Citrix) and their deployment models; Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation tasks; Familiarity with operating systems (Windows and Linux) and desktop/application delivery methods; Knowledge of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, VPN, and firewall configurations; Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex systems. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
