Senior DevOps Engineer - AWS Focused We are seeking a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Professional Services team in delivering cloud-native solutions that meet high technical standards and client satisfaction. In this role, you will contribute to complex, customer-facing projects that demand deep AWS expertise, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to deliver outcomes that align with each client's goals. You'll be an advocate for cloud best practices and an example of technical leadership across delivery teams.

What Sets You Apart

You're not only fluent in cloud-native development, but you also thrive on solving complex problems and helping others succeed. You push beyond "good enough " and bring curiosity and persistence to every project. You're well-versed in AWS tools, DevOps automation, and containerized systems, and you're always exploring emerging technologies that improve scalability, reliability, and efficiency.

Role Responsibilities Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes-based microservice environments at scale, including service mesh integrations (e.g., ISTIO, Linkerd, Consul). Leverage Helm, Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), and related tools to configure and maintain production-grade clusters. Create robust CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and others. Develop automation scripts and IaC templates (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK) to provision and manage cloud resources. Write and maintain code in languages such as Python, Bash, Java, or Go to support automation and infrastructure deployment. Drive operational excellence through scripting, configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef), and consistent infrastructure definition. Support agile development teams with DevOps guidance, pipeline optimization, and deployment best practices. Ensure consistent version control, branching, and integration workflows using Git-based tooling and GitOps methods. Help design cost-efficient architectures and implement tagging strategies for resource management and budget tracking. Assist in creating and executing migration strategies to move client systems from traditional environments into AWS. Validate successful infrastructure migration and decommission legacy resources where applicable. Participate in team standups, review technical designs, and encourage accountability and knowledge sharing across projects. Communicate clearly and transparently with internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment throughout project delivery. Core Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience with at least 10 years of hands-on technical work. Minimum 10 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering, including at least 6 years supporting DevOps or SRE functions in cloud environments. U.S. citizenship required for public sector project eligibility. 4+ years of experience designing AWS cloud environments and implementing IaC solutions. At least 3 years working with Kubernetes in production environments hosting microservices. Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with modern DevOps toolchains. Proficient in container management tools (Kubernetes, AWS EKS), and ecosystem components like Helm and CRDs. Strong grasp of AWS-native security controls, access policies, and architectural principles. Comfortable working with Linux systems, Docker containers, and container security practices. Advanced skills in scripting and programming using modern languages like Python, Java, Ruby, or Go. Familiarity with Agile delivery models and DevOps collaboration practices. Highly organized with strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications

Industry certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional, or AWS Solutions Architect - Professional. Experience integrating quality assurance tools such as SonarQube, Selenium, or equivalent into CI/CD processes. Background working with GitOps frameworks (e.g., ArgoCD), observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana), and "app of apps" deployment patterns. Proficiency in building and managing service mesh implementations like ISTIO in production environments. Knowledge of advanced networking configurations and routing within AWS. Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field. Contributions to open-source DevOps or cloud-native tooling are a plus.
