Job Summary:
We are seeking an Outside Plant (OSP) Telecommunications Planner with civil drafting experience to support route planning and plan production for fiber infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be skilled in AutoCAD Civil 3D and experienced in acquiring permits from local municipalities. This role plays a key part in supporting our project teams by ensuring designs meet municipal standards and project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed project drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D during the planning and design phases.
Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure timely completion of drawing sets.
Analyze and interpret data using platforms like Esri and Google Earth.
Ensure designs meet local municipality requirements.
Interpret utility records and understand Michigan’s MISSDIG system.
Apply client-specific AutoCAD standards and internal design protocols.
Conduct quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) checks on all drawing files.
Track and document project milestones and status.
Coordinate timelines and deliverables with engineers, designers, and project leads.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Primarily office-based with occasional travel or fieldwork as required.
Interpret technical drawings, sketches, and related materials.

Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in AutoCAD drafting or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD Civil experience.
Experience with MDOT and MicroStation is a plus.
Knowledge of CATV, TELCO, or Utility OSP planning/construction preferred
Strong communication skills and understanding of industry standards.
Proficient with Adobe, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
