Safety Manager
to support our client's growing team! This is a
W-2 full-time Direct Hire
position based in the
Greater Frankfort, KY area.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists line and staff management to understand OSHA regulations and standards, including guidance on handling OSHA compliance, inspections, and citations. Investigates injuries in conjunction with line and staff personnel. Notifies top management of pertinent details. Responsible for workman's comp cases. Responsible for all reporting requirements. Evaluates hazardous conditions and practices and develops hazard control practices and programs. Assists in communicating hazard control information and evaluates effectiveness of the control. Overviews company accident statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areas. Keeps apprised of developments in state safety laws likely to affect the company. Maintains SDS (Safety Data Sheet) electronic standalone stations. Performs & maintains all required Safety related Training for employees. Assists in implementation of all initiatives including ISO14001 and ISO9001 certifications, First Time Quality (FTQ) program, 5S program, OSHA, etc. Can function as the ISO 9000 Representative if required. Performs other duties as required or requested. QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or related subject or equivalent 8-10 years experience. Effective written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel and Word Preferred:
Master's degree or a professional designation like OHST, ASP, or CSP is desirable. 12+ years of management experience. Certificates in Safety, Hazardous Materials Handling etc. a plus
