Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced

Network Engineer

to join our team on a 6-month remote contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise-level Layer 2/3 networks. This includes working with VPNs, MPLS, VLANs, and a variety of routing and switching protocols, as well as ensuring secure and reliable connectivity across WAN and LAN environments.

Key Responsibilities: Execute implementation plans for Layer 2/3 enterprise networks including: Spanning Tree, VLANs, VPCs, Port Channels, ISP redundancy Routing and switching infrastructure Extranet connectivity and WAN integration Administer and maintain network environments, including: Systems software, application software, and hardware configurations Wired Ethernet, enterprise Wi-Fi, and serial/leased telecom connections Utilize network protocols and technologies such as: Frame Relay, VTP, PPP, HDLC Deploy, configure, and maintain: Site-to-site and client-based VPNs IPsec tunnels and MPLS configurations Implement and manage network security perimeters and firewall configurations Provide high-level support and troubleshooting of complex network infrastructure Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience with enterprise networking design, implementation, and support Strong hands-on knowledge of Layer 2/3 protocols and network services Proficiency with configuring VLANs, Spanning Tree, VPNs, MPLS, and Port Channels Familiarity with telecom connectivity and legacy data link technologies (PPP, HDLC) Experience with firewall management and security-focused network designs Excellent documentation and communication skills Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent Experience with enterprise-level firewall platforms (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.) Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools
