Selectek has partnered with a rapidly growing aviation client in the Indianapolis Metro area seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer. This role will be responsible for managing a team of electrical engineers in the design and redesign of interior electrical components for commercial aircraft. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, technical expertise in aircraft electrical systems, and a background in FAA certification processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers to support aircraft interior modifications and avionics upgrades. Oversee the design, analysis, substantiation, and certification of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) projects. Develop and review electrical engineering drawings and technical documentation, including wire installation, harness fabrication, and wire routing. Interpret and modify electrical wiring diagrams (EWIS, WDM, WRA, ELA, EWIS) to meet project specifications. Create and implement work instructions and airworthiness procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient project execution. Manage multiple projects while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Travel 10-15% domestically and internationally as required for project needs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering. 10+ years of experience in electrical design, analysis, substantiation, certification, and project management. Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams. Strong knowledge of FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) processes. Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with electrical design tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Airbus and Boeing aircraft. In-depth knowledge of aircraft electrical wiring and system design (EWIS, WDM, WRA, ELA, EWIS). Familiarity with aviation regulatory compliance and certification processes.
Pay Rate: $120,000+ base salary plus 10%-15% annual bonus based off of profit Term: Direct Hire This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to take on a leadership role in an expanding aviation company.
