Psychiatric Medical Director, Inpatient, Employed

Psychiatric Medical Director, Inpatient, Employed Health System is seeking a behavioral healthcare leader for an opportunity to provide inpatient medical directorship in both a clinical and administrative capacity to a collaborative multi-disciplinary team (psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, mental health clinicians, and social workers). Director will have a Monday through Friday schedule with shared rotating call coverage. The Medical Director will assume clinical, administrative, and managerial responsibility for a 24-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. The Director will provide leadership and staff support regarding general patient care, medication management and medical issues. The Director will also maintain a caseload of up to 10 inpatients while engaging in psychiatric assessments, daily treatment team meetings, discharge planning and indicated family meetings/communications. Directorship includes a Faculty appointment, Supervision of medical students rotating on the psychiatric service, Voluntary participation in didactics/ research and Participation in faculty development with both our undergraduate and graduate medical education program. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, sound clinical abilities, well- developed administrative/managerial skills be hard-working, dedicated to high quality patient care, and available to mentor and assist others working on the unit in providing the same.
