We are seeking a

Systems Engineer I

to analyze functional business requirements, design specifications, and system architectures to support

DoD operations and IT modernization . This role involves assessing existing systems, implementing new solutions, and collaborating with

engineering teams

to develop

next-generation IT systems

for military applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze functional business requirements and design specifications for

DoD IT and engineering systems .

Identify and resolve problems in

existing system designs

while leading new system implementations.

Enhance

existing IT systems

and participate in the analysis, design, and deployment of

next-generation IT solutions .

Evaluate

commercially available IT products (COTS)

and integrate them into mission-critical applications.

Develop system requirements to ensure proper implementation by

architecture and engineering teams .

Collaborate closely with programmers, system administrators, and cybersecurity experts.

Maintain expertise in

telecommunications concepts, computer languages, operating systems, databases/DBMS, and middleware .

Support

system integration, software testing, and security evaluations

to meet DoD compliance standards.

Required Qualifications:

Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or higher OR

High School Diploma or GED Certificate with

1 year

of relevant experience.

Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or higher OR

1 year

of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

Strong understanding of

systems engineering principles, IT architecture, and defense system integration .

Familiarity with

DoD cybersecurity policies, risk management frameworks (RMF), and IT governance .

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with

classified military systems and secure networks .

Knowledge of

cloud computing technologies (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) .

Familiarity with

DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security integration .

Certifications such as

Security+, CISSP, or DoD-approved systems engineering credentials .
