Position Overview:

The Senior Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of hydropower infrastructure projects, from concept through commissioning. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, this role involves oversight of financial planning, procurement, contractor coordination, stakeholder engagement, and risk management. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing multiple complex projects and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in delivering on-budget, and on-time results.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Financial Management

Lead full lifecycle management of hydropower projects from planning through commissioning. Develop and control project budgets, allocate resources, and track capital investments. Monitor project performance and ensure alignment with financial and strategic objectives. Apply project controls and reporting mechanisms to manage cost, schedule, and scope. Procurement & Contract Management

Oversee procurement activities including sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiation. Ensure contract compliance and manage vendor relationships to support timely delivery. Coordinate commissioning efforts following construction or major overhauls. Stakeholder & Team Coordination

Engage internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, communities, and contractors. Act as a liaison across departments to ensure collaboration and alignment of project goals. Lead cross-functional teams and provide mentorship to junior staff. Quality, Safety & Risk Oversight

Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality protocols, and regulatory requirements. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project impacts. Standardize safety procedures and enforce compliance across all project phases. Planning, Documentation & Administration

Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource forecasts. Maintain accurate records, digital files, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Provide administrative oversight to support logistical and clerical project needs. Leadership & Strategic Direction

Contributes to the strategic planning and prioritization of capital initiatives. Represent the project in executive briefings, regulatory meetings, and community forums. Resolve conflicts and promote a positive, results-driven team culture. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management, or related field (master's preferred). 8+ years of project management experience, with 3+ years in hydropower or renewable energy. PMP or equivalent certification preferred. Strong understanding of budgeting, procurement, safety protocols, and stakeholder management. Proficiency in project management software and methodologies. Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license for required travel. Up to 75% travel, mostly driving. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with NetSuite
