Job Overview:

As our

Ecommerce Specialist

, you will be the operational owner of our DTC store (Shopify or equivalent), responsible for optimizing product merchandising, driving conversion, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience across all devices and channels. You’ll bridge the gap between marketing, design, product, and customer experience to make sure every click leads to conversion.

You’ll oversee day-to-day ecommerce operations while also identifying opportunities for long-term growth, tech improvements, and better customer journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Management & Merchandising

Manage the day-to-day operations of our Shopify store.

Own product merchandising, collections, homepage layout, navigation, and on-site search.

Upload and QA new products, variants, promotions, and seasonal changes.

Track and analyze site performance, making data-driven adjustments to improve traffic, engagement, and conversion rates.

Regularly update website content, build new landing pages, and ensure expired content is removed promptly.

Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and mobile devices to enhance customer experience and site rankings.

Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with ADA, security, and performance standards.

Conversion Optimization

Collaborate with CRO Specialist (or lead CRO strategy directly if solo).

Identify friction points in the purchase journey and own key site KPIs: CVR, AOV, bounce rate.

Own site UX and propose enhancements to improve customer journey and trust.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with performance marketing on landing pages, pixel integrations, and tracking.

Coordinate with creative and content teams to ensure consistent site visuals.

Partner with the tech/dev team or agency to implement site updates and troubleshoot issues.

Inventory & Fulfillment Sync

Ensure product availability and site messaging are accurate (e.g., low stock, preorders).

Collaborate with Ops/Logistics to align fulfillment timing, returns, and shipping offers.

Analytics & Reporting

Track ecommerce KPIs using GA4, Shopify Analytics, and other attribution platforms.

Report weekly on traffic, sales, conversion, top products, and drop-off points.

Use insights to recommend new tests or roadmap improvements.

Tech Stack & Tool Management

Maintain Shopify apps (Klaviyo, Gorgias, Judge.me, Synctrack, Cross-sell, Upsell, etc.).

Research, evaluate, and implement new features and tools to enhance website functionality and user experience.

Requirements

3–5 years of ecommerce management experience, ideally with Shopify.

Strong understanding of conversion funnels, user experience, and ecommerce SEO.

Familiarity with merchandising best practices, product hierarchy, and PDP design.

Proficiency with GA4, Shopify Analytics, Excel/Sheets, Klaviyo, and heatmapping tools.

Experience with basic HTML/CSS or managing developers/designers.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and data-literate.

Ecommerce Expertise: Prior experience working with online retail platforms, especially Shopify.

Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve website issues efficiently.

A deep understanding of UX/UI design principles and how they translate to business success.

Ability to collaborate with various teams and clearly communicate technical concepts.

Capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, especially during busy seasons or launches.

Knowledge of integrating email marketing, CRM tools, and social media platforms with Shopify.

Understanding of SEO strategies, website speed optimization, and working with analytics tools like Google Analytics.

Experience with order and inventory management integrations.

Knowledge of secure payment processing and checkout customization

Good Skills to Have:

Experience with subscriptions, bundling, or upsell tools.

Past work on Amazon, Faire, Etsy, or other marketplaces.
