Verily's Product Security team is seeking a Staff Security Engineer with a strong background in both cloud security and security architecture and design reviews of critical technologies. In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate closely with product teams, performing in-depth security reviews of Verily technologies and designs. You'll also independently design, implement and support operating advanced cloud-based security solutions that product teams will leverage across our platforms. Your contributions will directly enhance the security posture of our innovative health technologies, safeguarding sensitive data and building trust
Responsibilities Work closely with product engineering teams to review and provide comprehensive feedback on their security designs and implementations, ensuring adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements for Verily technologies. Conduct thorough security reviews of Verily technologies throughout their lifecycle, including architecture, design, and code, identifying risks and mitigations. Act as a subject matter expert on cloud security, providing guidance and mentorship to engineering teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, IT and HR to integrate security requirements throughout the product development lifecycle. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BS+ degree or equivalent practical experience, with 8+ years of relevant experience in security engineering. Prior experience in cloud engineering across GCP, Azure and/or AWS. Extensive prior experience with security architecture and design reviews. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Cloud security certifications (e.g., GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer). Experience with platform engineering and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform). Experience with cloud, code and mobile security technologies (e.g., CNAPP).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000 - $247,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
