This full-time social work position is part of a vibrant, multidisciplinary team within the Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. The social worker will serve a key role in the outpatient Eating Disorders Program, providing clinical care and case coordination to adolescents and young adults with eating disorder diagnoses in an integrated, fast-paced medical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting psychosocial evaluations for patients presenting with eating disorder symptoms

Providing ongoing individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches

Supporting patients and families with intensive care coordination, service navigation, care team collaboration, resource information, referrals, and crisis intervention as needed

Collaborating closely with medical, nutrition, and mental health colleagues as part of a comprehensive care team

Participating in interdisciplinary case consultation and care coordination

Contributing one weekly 4-hour daytime shift to the outpatient Adolescent/Young Adult Clinic’s mental health on-call service

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Master’s degree in social work

Experience:

Prior clinical experience working with adolescents/young adults with eating disorders strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical assessment and therapeutic care to medically and psychiatrically complex patients

Knowledge and experience with Massachusetts based human services and community resources

Excellent communication and writing skills; flexibility and capacity to thrive in a collaborative team-based environment

Experience in medical settings preferred

Bilingual/bicultural candidates encouraged to apply, Spanish fluency a plus

Ability to work in a hybrid model, with private space for telehealth and on-site availability at least twice per week

Availability to work at minimum one evening per week

Licensure/Certifications:

LCSW licensure in the state of MA is required, LICSW highly preferred
