Job Description
Project Manager with experience in utility or linear construction and/or engineering and can exhibit a track record of successfully leading project teams in and through multiple municipalities and territories. This role will lead a mix of internal and contract track leads in the execution of natural gas pipeline projects throughout various cities and counties in Georgia.While decision making and execution falls to the individual tracks, project management is responsible to ensure the project achieves its objective on schedule, within the company quality standards, on budget and safely. This includes leading scope development discussions, contracting strategy and RFP efforts, reporting progress during execution, tracking changes, and providing reporting to management throughout the lifecycle of the project.Candidates must have strong experience working in client-facing environments, be highly organized, and have strong and confident communication and presentation skills.
Required Experience:
All Linear construction experience is advantageous, Energy & Natural gas experience preferred. Helpful experience includes Linear Construction Projects dealing with large territories through multiple cities and counties involving processes of land acquisition and permitting, for natural gas pipelines, utilities, railroads, transit authorities, telecom, fiber, etc. 5 plus years project management experience in Linear Construction environment Great organizational skills and attention to detail Thoroughly understands and utilizes Information Technology in the performance of their work including Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite Preferred experience:
Direct Assessment, Indirect inspection, Inline inspection, pig tool runs Pipeline replacement projects and/or Hydrotest projects Experience
Candidates are required to have experience and/or high working knowledge in the following areas:
General Management
Represent Owner's interest throughout project(s) and manage project risks and minimize exposure. Developing innovative solutions Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
Scoping
Developing project objectives and strategies Leading estimating discussions on projects with limited design work complete
Bid process management
Experience in developing and managing contractor Scopes of Work Compiling RFP guidelines and assist in qualification and selection of contractors Performing bid variance analysis
Controls
Scheduling
Experience in schedule development Tracking project resource availability Verifying schedules based on actual progress Expediting Schedule and project delivery milestones
Cost Control
Thorough understanding of cost management practices Cost variance analysis and reporting Managing multiyear projects to annualized budgets Reviewing and approving change orders
Risk
Managing project risks and minimize Owner's exposure Facilitating the resolution of all project issues
Execution
Ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget Working with construction management and contractors for daily / weekly progress Addressing issues as they arise, calling adhoc team meetings, vetting solutions and driving resolution Maintain daily interactions with the client, designers, stakeholders, contractors, inspectors, and local authorities Manage clear and consistent communications with project stakeholders Compile monthly reporting and presenting project progress to management Leading stage-gate review meetings with leadership
Desired Skills & Experience
Education:
BA/BS in Project Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience.
Schedule:
In Office: Monday-Thursday / Friday work from home.
