BI / Data Analytics Reporting Developer
Baltimore, MD (Currently Remote; May Transition to Hybrid in Future)
Long-Term Contract
Role Overview and Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Reporting Developer to join the Data Analytics Team on a long-term contract. This role focuses on developing and maintaining reports and dashboards to ensure data quality prior to release. You will work closely with business owners and subject matter experts to clarify requirements, perform user acceptance testing, and create documentation to support the repeatability of annual upgrades.
Responsibilities include: Developing and maintaining reports and dashboards with a focus on data accuracy and quality. Creating, reviewing, and monitoring requirement documents and visual report/dashboard designs. Collaborating with business owners and subject matter experts to refine requirements and complete user acceptance testing. Translating business requirements into effective Tableau or Power BI solutions. Creating documentation to support repeatability of annual upgrades. Performing unit, system, and performance testing to ensure reliability and functionality. Producing regular status reports and communicating project updates to stakeholders. Required Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience developing dashboards, reports, and frameworks in Tableau or Power BI. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (may substitute with 5+ years of relevant experience). Experience working with Azure SQL Database. Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Understanding of Data Warehousing principles, concepts, and architecture. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Skill in creative and analytical problem-solving. Ability to work on multiple priorities and meet project delivery dates. Ability to effectively analyze and manage requirements and visualize complex issues. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with users at all levels and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience coordinating work with multiple departments and stakeholders. K-12 education experience preferred but not required.
