Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing IT projects that support client needs and organizational goals. This role manages all phases of the project lifecycle, including defining project scope, developing schedules, allocating resources, and ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards. The Project Manager works closely with clients, technical teams, and stakeholders to communicate progress, manage risks, and resolve issues. Success in this position requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a solid understanding of IT infrastructure, infrastructure installations, cabling projects, and managed services environments.
Responsibilities
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations. Lead and motivate project teams, assigning tasks and monitoring progress. Monitoring: Track project milestones, deliverables, and timelines to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery. Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed. Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, team members, and leadership. Prepare and present regular project status reports and documentation. Ensure adherence to organizational project management methodologies and best practices. Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques. Conduct project post-mortems to identify areas for improvement and share lessons learned. Requirements and Qualifications
Qualifications (Skills and Experience): Education:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
3-5+ years of experience in IT project management, preferably within an MSP or IT services environment. Proven track record of managing multiple IT projects, including system integrations, migrations, or deployments. Experience in IT infrastructure, network components, low voltage systems, including cabling, AV, security, and access control systems.
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services, and cybersecurity principles. Familiarity with MSP-specific tools like Halo PSA, ConnectWise, Autotask, or Kaseya.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams. Conflict resolution and negotiation skills to handle client or resource-related challenges.
Certifications (Preferred):
PMP (Project Management Professional) Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA Microsoft Azure)
