Job Description:

The Assembly Tech will assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications.

Skills and Requirements:

Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications manuals and plan assembly or building operations.

Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications.

Position or align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.

Set and verify parts clearances.

Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.

Fasten or install piping, fixtures, wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or sub-assemblies, using hand tools, rivet guns, or welding equipment.

Remove rough spots and smooth surfaces to fit, trim, or clean parts, using hand tools or power tools.

Lay out and drill, ream, tap, or cut parts for assembly.

Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies.

Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes.

Maintain and lubricate parts or components.

Align parts or work pieces to ensure proper assembly.

Apply lubricants or coolants to work pieces.

Assemble electromechanical or hydraulic systems.

Cut industrial materials in preparation for fabrication or processing.

Drill holes in parts, equipment, or materials.

Inspect installed components or assemblies.

Lay out parts to prepare for assembly.

Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.

Operate grinding equipment.

Plan production or operational procedures or sequences.

Repair parts or assemblies.

Replace worn equipment components.

Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Normal hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma (required)

College or Technical certificates ()

Two to five years of related experience
