Responsibilities:
The Sourcing Associate is responsible for all Procurement related activities supporting the strategic analysis of suppliers, supply markets, and supply chains within the areas of the Research & Development Sourcing and Procurement organization. This role will report to an Associate Director and will take an active role in the development of procurement strategies, global category management, contract management, risk management, stakeholder management and supplier value management within this category. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all sourcing strategies are compliant and follow Global Procurements' Sourcing Management Process (SMP) and will prepare and conduct pre-negotiation planning, live negotiations, provide contracting support as well as lead and conduct requests for proposals (RFP), requests for quotations (RFQ), quotation analysis, and cost modeling.
Primary activities include, but are not limited to: • Strategy Development/Implementation: Utilizes Sourcing Management Process and other tools and techniques to create and execute RFIs, RFPs, RFQs together with subsequent structured information analysis wherever possible using modern electronic procurement processes. • Continuous Improvement: Ensure that each supplier relationship is established with a bias for continuous improvement. Support development and monitoring of key performance indicators that demonstrate improvements. • Change Management: Utilizes project, program and change management skills to manage and drive change both internally and externally. • Contract Negotiation and Management: Reviews and negotiates contract terms and conditions both with internal and external stakeholders, including legal and finance. Performs detailed analysis of supplier proposals and payment schedules and conducts rigorous price negotiations with suppliers. Implements appropriate forms of contract and commitment with suppliers. • Diversity: Actively supports diversity, both within Client as well as expanding relationships and spend with Diverse Suppliers. • Category Knowledge: Leverages a detailed understanding of marketplace, competitors and business requirements. Develop keen insights on near term as well as long-term horizon. • Cost Management: Constructs detailed cost models/purchase price analysis of goods and services to drive the control, containment and reduction of costs for MRL and to provide deep and meaningful insights to Sourcing Management teams. • Knowledge Management: As a sourcing manager, the incumbent will be expected to generate work of a world class quality with the intent to share and transfer this knowledge with colleagues throughout procurement. • For each Procurement category (Logistics, IT, Site/Commercial Services, Marketing, Research) identify Procurement Procedure 4.3 (Contract Development and Execution) gaps using the audit template (attached reference if helpful) and confirm the following: • Fully executed set of contracts/amendments exist in SAP eSourcing • Confirm that a full sequence of amendments exist and that the latest amendment is still valid • If spend over life of contract is >$4MM, confirm that copy of Recommendation to Approve memo is in eSourcing and RTA TeamSpace • Any gaps should be identified and corrected with the help of sourcing leads • Obtain project file materials from contract owner/sourcing lead to close any gaps • Migrate project file to category TeamSpace with recommended naming convention • Align under category hierarchy/Subcategory/Project title • Experience with SAP eSourcing is desired, but we can provide training if not . "
