About the Role:
The Medical Assistant position in our Laurel, Gaithersburg, and Silver Spring offices is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our orthopedic practice. This role involves providing direct support to physicians and patients, facilitating effective communication and care delivery. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, assisting with procedures, and managing patient records. By maintaining a high standard of care and professionalism, the Medical Assistant will contribute to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction. Ultimately, this position plays a vital role in enhancing the overall efficiency of our healthcare services in the orthopedic field.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an orthopedic setting or familiarity with orthopedic terminology. Bilingual skills to assist a diverse patient population. Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems. Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and assisting with physical examinations. Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available. Manage patient records, including scheduling appointments, updating medical histories, and processing insurance information. Educate patients on orthopedic care, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions to ensure understanding and compliance. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
Skills:
The required skills in orthopedics will be utilized daily as the Medical Assistant interacts with patients undergoing orthopedic evaluations and treatments. Proficiency in orthopedic terminology will enhance communication with both patients and healthcare providers, ensuring accurate information exchange.
