Responsibilities While this position provides Patient Logistics services to the patients of CommonSpirit Health across the United States, it must be performed on-site at our Phoenix AZ Virtual Hospital located at 3033 N. 3rd Avenue. Job Summary / Purpose The Patient Logistics Manager is responsible for managing the bed placement and transfer center and other activities support within the Command Center. The role involves supporting the department and staff to carry out the patient logistics program and command center responsibilities. The manager collaborates with hospital administration, nursing leadership, medical staff, physicians, and transportation vendors to ensure timely and accurate patient room assignments, utilizing all critical resources for patient throughput and care throughout the continuum. The primary responsibility includes supervising the patient logistics team, including clinical coordinators, patient logistics coordinators, and nurses within the department. Essential Key Job Responsibilities Develop and maintain protocols, algorithms, and work aids for the department Ensure staff have the tools needed for effective patient placement Assist in onboarding and orientation of new staff Compile data for quality assurance and compliance Hold staff accountable to standards Participate in growth and improvement initiatives Support in preparing reports, research, and data analysis Manage the Patient Logistics/Command Center operations according to established procedures Lead supervisory support for coordinators and staff Operate independently with initiative and discipline Perform other duties as assigned Proficient in Patient Logistics Coordinator and RN roles Data collection for patient placement and transfers Determine facility designation based on diagnoses and care requirements Maintain communication during patient transfers Prioritize bed assignments based on patient condition and bed availability Communicate effectively with hospital staff Respond during emergencies for patient transfers Document accurately and timely Use computerized documentation proficiently Take responsibility for decisions and behaviors Participate in staff orientation and serve as a resource Engage in ongoing education and quality initiatives The listed responsibilities are not exhaustive; employees may perform other duties as needed. Qualifications Minimum Experience and Education RN with 3 years of clinical experience, including acute hospital experience (prefer ER and ICU) Management experience in a hospital setting Bachelors degree in Nursing, Health, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders Ability to work independently and in teams, with critical thinking and multitasking skills Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills Licensure and Certification Current RN license in applicable state(s) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office Familiarity with TeleTracking, Cerner, Cisco phone system preferred Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs., stand, and walk during shifts Pay Range $60/hr - $71.34/hr #J-18808-Ljbffr
