Caterpillar Inc. seeks an Embedded Software Engineer at its facility located at 100 Morey Drive, Woodridge, Illinois 60517. An Embedded Software Engineer will perform software development with specific responsibilities for designing, coding, and testing C++ and Python in a Linux operating system environment. Development may include any or all of the following: concept, design, debug, and test; perform requirements analysis and decomposition; perform product maintenance; work with senior engineers to manage the product lifecycle through version control and configuration management; document for ISO compliance; keep up to date on new technologies; communicate technical information to customers, team members, suppliers and other units; and support & advise other engineers, lead engineers, and managers. REQS: This position requires a bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or a related field plus 3 years of experience with embedded software development, design, and architecture or a related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) 3 years of experience using C++ and/or C programming language(s); (2) 2 years of experience in Linux operating system; (3) Python; (4) Embedded electronic hardware system; (5) Software version control tools; (6) Requirements management workflow tools; and (7) Hardware in the loop testing. Summary Pay Range: $108,077.00 $143,520.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
