What you’ll do: The IT Manager, Development leads the strategic design, development, and implementation of software solutions with a primary focus on the Guidewire insurance platform. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with team management responsibilities, ensuring alignment between technology initiatives and business objectives. The manager is responsible for fostering engineering excellence through Agile methodologies, test-driven development, and DevSecOps practices. In addition to guiding software architecture and delivery, this position plays a key role in mentoring developers, managing performance, and overseeing complex system integrations and upgrades. What we’re looking for: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field required (4 years of experience, in addition to requirement below, may be considered in lieu of required education) 7+ years of progressive experience in software development or engineering, with demonstrated expertise in modern development practices, tools, and methodologies. 3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing software development teams, driving technical strategy, and mentoring engineering staff. Strong experience with DevSecOps, Java, and vendor/contract resource management. Demonstrated experience in leading full lifecycle Guidewire implementations and upgrades, including customization and systems integration. Deep expertise with GOSU programming and enforcing coding standards across a team environment. Proven ability to align technical execution with business outcomes, including cross-departmental stakeholder management and communications. Qualifications
