Industrial Packaging Technician

We are currently seeking a self-motivated Industrial Packaging Technician with a strong mechanical, technical and analytical aptitude and a background in industrial maintenance including mechanical, electrical and hydraulics. Based in our New London, CT facility, the Industrial Packaging Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and improving the functionality of production and facilities equipment while maintaining strict compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues and production and facility equipment functionality and reliability (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems)
Preventative maintenance, implementation of safety procedures, and inventory supplies and records maintenance
Maintaining and repairing industrial equipment for optimal performance and safety
Conduct preventive maintenance and replace parts or components as needed
Cross-departmental collaboration with engineering and production to achieve process improvement and ensure equipment reliability
Maintain accurate equipment performance and maintenance records
Respond with urgency to emergency repair requests
Assist with equipment and systems installations
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies and stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical technology
Qualifications:
3-5 years troubleshooting and industrial equipment repair/systems experience
High level of knowledge pertaining to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and machinery
Previous experience as an industrial maintenance technician or similar role
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics and CAD
Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
Must be comfortable working under changing environmental conditions, including noise and temperature variations
Knowledge of testing equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes and other field equipment
Basic plc knowledge including ability to read plc signals and warning indicators, and have basic operational understanding of a 3D printer
Knowledge of and experience working with motors, vfd's, and performing robot maintenance
Minimum High school or Trade School education; Associates in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a plus
Experience with cartoning and filling equipment, welding/fabrication, and use of own tools are a plus
