Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable network infrastructure encompassing LAN/WAN technologies, routing protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and network security tools. Proactively monitor network performance, uptime, and capacity, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks to ensure optimal network health. Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions. Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies. Stay updated on emerging network technologies and trends, evaluating and recommending solutions to enhance network performance, security, and efficiency. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with systems and applications. Mentor and guide junior network engineers, fostering their professional growth. Participate in on-call rotations, providing after-hours support for critical network incidents. Qualifications
Required Experience: COMSEC background with experience as the primary COMSEC Responsible Officer. Operate cryptographic equipment and secure data transfer devices. Implement AFMAN 17-1302-O standards. Troubleshoot circuit issues within a DISA environment, including requesting new circuits. Provide engineering and operational services on DoD-supported networks. Familiarity with routing and switching (MPLS, VPNs) and protocols such as BGP, Spanning Tree, VLANs, LLDP, VoIP. Knowledge of multicast protocols and emerging network technologies. Design, implement, and manage Cisco ISE solutions for network access control and identity management. Develop and enforce network access policies based on roles, devices, and security requirements. Configure security policies, rule sets, and network segmentation on Palo Alto firewalls. Perform firewall upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting. Conduct security assessments and audits against DISA STIGs. Implement systems according to STIG requirements for classified and unclassified environments. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, 3 years with PhD; or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering. Active Certifications: Security+, CCNA. Preferred certifications include Cloud+, GICSP, CEH, SSCP, GCIH. Active TS Clearance, SCI eligibility. Additional Preferred Qualifications: CCNP Certification. Peraton Overview
