TETER is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Structural Project Engineer
to join our team of professionals dedicated to designing safe, innovative, and inspiring public education facilities across California. This role is ideal for a licensed Structural Engineer with proven experience working on
K–12 and higher education projects
under the
California Division of the State Architect (DSA) .
What You'll Do
As a Structural Project Engineer at TETER, you will play a critical role in the design and delivery of public education projects. You will:
Lead structural design for DSA-regulated projects, including vertical and lateral load systems
Produce and oversee structural drawings using AutoCAD and REVIT
Conduct and review structural calculations and design criteria
Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teams
Support or lead construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and site visits
Manage project quality, schedule, and scope
Mentor junior staff and contribute to department standards and QA/QC processes
Serve as Engineer-of-Record on structural-only projects (Level II)
What You Bring
Licensure:
Current registration as a Structural Engineer in California (required)
Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years (Level I) or 5–8 years (Level II) of structural engineering experience
Demonstrated experience with DSA projects in California's public education sector is required
Education:
Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering
Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, and DSA requirements
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior staff
Familiarity with project management software (Deltek Vantagepoint preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range:
$125,000–$155,000 annually
(Actual pay depends on qualifications, experience, location, and business needs)
