Roles Provide student support services and advising for Master's and Doctoral students to enhance student success and retention. Maintain consistent practices among all programs of the DeVos Graduate School. Assist with academic and operational processes, budget, and program logistics. Directly reports to the Assistant Dean.
Responsibilities
Assist with budget management. Operate as a point of primary contact for all International and DBA graduate students for all student service matters. Attend and assist in the execution of all DeVos Graduate School student-related events (e.g., graduations, international student activities, receptions, and site visits). Work closely with full-time faculty to plan and coordinate DBA Residency. Lead planning initiatives and ensure exceptional execution. Work with faculty to support and schedule new student orientations. Work with Admissions to ensure all details are communicated and necessary materials are provided to students. Support the dissertation publication process. Work collaboratively with ProQuest and the Academic Editor. Ensure timely updates to DBA forms, the DBA Handbook, the Dissertation Manual, and Dissertation Rubric. Advise doctoral students on proper dissertation credit registration. Assist with training and recruiting potential chair and committee members. Act as a liaison for dissertation defense scheduling and information sharing. Operate as a primary point of contact for Admissions Reps and work collaboratively with student enrollment. Assist in resolving concerns, questions, or problems. Provide academic administrative support (course materials, course shell development, faculty pay, faculty contracts, textbooks, and various Blackboard LTI integration software). Work with the registrar's office to develop and provide information for graduate course builds within Colleague. Coordinate and conduct all new student onboarding sessions. Work collaboratively with students to maintain and update their academic plans for successful program completion. Develop, prepare, and process completion plans for returning students. Ensure final plans are communicated to all NU departments impacted. Update and maintain student files. Manage all student accounts receivable. Manage international student revenue reporting. Work collaboratively with DeVos academics, the business office, financial aid office, and international department on all student-related issues to best support our student populations. Manage creation, registration, and communication in all student Blackboard cohort orgs. Provide timely and consistent updates. Work collaboratively with the registrar's office each semester regarding course schedules and cohort registration. Assist with overall program scheduling & logistics planning for all graduate programs. Work with administration to monitor and manage academic dismissals and probation. Maintain various reports: scholarship, enrollment, retention, budget, student complaint log, plagiarism/AI log. Track student attendance and performance requirements. Propose and implement retention initiatives and work with the Assistant Dean to manage related metrics. Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and ensure SEVIS compliance. Sit on the Learning Commons Advisory Council to support graduate research initiatives. Lead DeVos SEM Performance Council. Develop and update existing policies and process documents as needed. Practice continuous improvement to drive operational effectiveness and cost control. Conduct environmental scanning for graduate school programs and markets. Serve as an innovation scout to search for ideas and approaches to address graduate school operational priorities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Be motivated, detail-oriented, and have a positive attitude in working with others. Have Proficiency with MS Office, ImageNow, and Colleague software applications. Prioritize and manage tasks, think autonomously and collaboratively in group settings. Exhibit leadership skills. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must be able to set and obtain short and long-term goals. Operations experience on an academic level is preferred. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Expectations
