POSITION SUMMARY:

At Camp, we are looking for active, friendly, and confident nurses to work with our campers and staff. We have 200+ campers and 25+ staff members at Camp Kirkwood for one-week periods. During a normal week, we will have a nurse to provide medical administration and general triage. Camp Kirkwood nurses commit to one-week periods during the summer from Sunday to Friday. This week includes two check-ins and one check-out for campers.

BENEFITS:

Up to two campers attend Overnight Camp at no charge ($1696 value)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Intake of overnight campers Preparation and distribution of all medication First Aid and triage of all people on property with support of other trained professionals Respond to mental health concerns Ability to plan and execute an E.A.P Supervision of the infirmary including but not limited to restock, cleaning, sanitizing. Provide guidance and direction to weekly nursing students attending camp for observation hours Complete all reporting and documentation of camper and staff medical care through the online CampDoc portal. Expectational communication skills with youth and adults. QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 21 years of age or older Ideal candidates are great RNs, Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who are flexible and adventurous. Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA. Professional Certifications/Credentials and Licenses required to volunteer at Camp Kirkwood. Desire and ability to work with children. Track record of being reliable and dedicated to service. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to provide a physical exam by a medical provider Must be able to see, hear, and speak clearly. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be in good health, able to bend, stand, stoop, walk, climb and work outside in all terrain and weather conditions for extended periods of time. Must be able to comprehend and communicate written and or verbal instructions. Comfortable working outdoors, heights and around water.
