POSITION SUMMARY
The
Quality Inspector
is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections on manufactured products, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with internal standards, drawings, and customer specifications. This role supports overall quality assurance initiatives, identifies nonconformities, and works closely with production teams to uphold quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES Perform visual and dimensional inspections on mechanical and electrical assemblies, enclosures, and wiring using standard tools and inspection criteria. Verify product conformance to blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing documentation. Review and inspect product workmanship in accordance with
IPC-A-610
or
IPC-A-620
standards (preferred). Document inspection results using checklists, quality reports, and nonconformance reports (NCRs). Communicate quality findings to appropriate departments and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions. Tag and segregate nonconforming material per established procedures. Support ISO 9001 quality system compliance through documentation and inspection activities. Assist with first article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections at various stages of production. Participate in continuous improvement efforts and promote quality awareness on the shop floor. Use basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, and multimeters (if applicable). QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree preferred. Minimum 2 years' experience in a quality inspection or manufacturing quality role. Familiarity with
ISO 9001
standards and quality documentation procedures. Experience interpreting blueprints, assembly drawings, and basic electrical/mechanical diagrams. Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies. Preferred: knowledge of
IPC-A-610 ,
IPC-A-620 , or similar workmanship standards. Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, Outlook); experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP is a plus. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently or in a team. PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Regular standing, walking, and movement throughout the production area. Occasional bending, stooping, or lifting (up to 50 pounds). Use of appropriate
PPE
