What We're Looking For
We're seeking a motivated Senior Network Engineer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot networking and communication systems onsite at China Lake, CA. The right candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for the team, providing expert guidance on network architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting. This individual will lead technical efforts, mentor junior engineers, and ensure adherence to best practices across all phases of network deployment and support.
Clearance Requirement
Active DoD TOP SECRET Security Clearance required What You'll Do As the technical subject matter expert (SME) for the network engineering team, you will take a lead role in advising on design, implementing, and supporting enterprise network solutions.
Installation & Setup: Lead and oversee the rack, stack, cabling, and power-up of networking equipment across various environments Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as the escalation point for complex network issues involving routers, switches, and connectivity challenges Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior team members, ensuring best practices and consistent technical standards Customer Engagement: Deliver high-quality, customer-focused technical support while communicating solutions clearly and professionally Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of configurations and service activities; author clear, actionable service reports and technical documentation What You'll Need to Succeed
Proven, hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Aruba networking platforms in enterprise or DoD environments Expertise in physical infrastructure: cabling, racking, stacking, power configuration Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across Layer 1-3 technologies Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues to non-technical stakeholders Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commonly used network analysis and monitoring tools Experience mentoring or guiding technical teams is a plus Certifications:
DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent Preferred Computing Environment Certification: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and/or Aruba Certified Associate (ACA) Work Location
100% onsite in China Lake, CA Spend 6-10 weeks working onsite at China Lake, CA, followed by 2 weeks off at home to rest and recharge All travel and onsite accommodation expenses fully covered by PEAKE Daily per diem allowance for meals and incidental expenses. (Note: based on GSA rates and typically tax-free when aligned with federal travel guidelines; paid in addition to wages to reduce out-of-pocket costs and simplify expense tracking.) Compensation & Benefits
