Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Beaverton, OR
Duration: 12 Months
Key Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain complex Cisco-based network infrastructure (routers, switches), with Client on EIGRP and BGP routing protocols. Firewall Administration: Configure and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including policy optimization, threat prevention, and VPN setup (IPSec, GlobalProtect). Operational Support: Provide Tier 2/3 support for advanced network issues related to routing, switching, and firewall performance. Monitoring & Optimization: Use tools like SolarWinds to monitor network performance, analyze trends, and address bottlenecks. utomation & Management: Leverage Cisco DNA Center for automation and provisioning and Panorama for firewall configuration. Project Management: Track project tasks and deployments using JIRA. ITSM Practices: Utilize ServiceNow for incident, problem, and change management. Documentation: Maintain accurate network diagrams, SOPs, and knowledge base articles. Project Participation: Support global and regional network projects including new deployments and upgrades. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field-or equivalent experience. 6+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering with deep Cisco knowledge, particularly in EIGRP, BGP, and switching technologies. Experience deploying and managing Palo Alto Networks firewalls and features like Threat Prevention and URL Filtering. Proficiency with SolarWinds and other network monitoring tools. Experience with ServiceNow (ITSM platform) and JIRA (project/task management). Preferred Qualifications: • Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP (Enterprise/Security) or PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer). • Experience supporting network infrastructure in large-scale Distribution Center or Manufacturing environments. • Knowledge of WAN technologies and solutions. • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network automation. • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
