DEFINITION: Under general supervision, performs skilled work in the repair and servicing of a variety of electronic, communications and lighting equipment in district schools; and performs related work as required.Work Length: 8 Hours per Day 2024-2025 Salary Schedule (9% Increase Effective July 1, 2024)EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Assembles, installs, repairs and services equipment such as radios, television receivers and antennas, public address systems, tape recorders, motion picture projectors and a variety of audiovisual training equipment Repairs and adjusts master clock and fire alarm systems Repairs parts and recorders as needed Designs parts and reorders as needed Sets up and operates loud speaker and lighting systems at special events Assists in general electrical maintenance work and installation of wiring systems Tests electronic equipment May train helpers and assistants DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Training and Experience: A combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of formal training in general electronics work; three years of experience in electronic maintenance.Knowledge of: The tools, equipment and methods of repairing electronic communications equipment The construction, assembly, repair and operation of radio and television receivers Skills in: Maintaining and establishing effective working relationships with others Keeping records and preparing reports Ability to: Diagnose defects in audiovisual equipment operation and to repair the equipment Read blueprints and wiring diagrams To instruct and supervise helpers Licenses and Certificates: A valid California driver's license
