AWS Experience
Must have strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Github etc)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and immutable infrastructure
Automation and scripting tools experience (Bash, Python, Shell, Perl, etc)
Experience with Linux and Tomcat Administration
Overview
The DevOps SME will work Automation and DevOps Tools and Cloud Infrastructure teams to support operational enhancements of all critical automation infrastructure in support of the 2020 Decennial Census Technical Integrator (TI) service. This individual will independently evaluate the current DevOps Tools footprint and automated build pipelines and suggest and implement performance enhancements, improve mainatainability and overall availability to meet critical uptime needs of the environment.
Responsibilities
Works independently with high-level direction from Automation Architect to improve operational capabilities of DevOps Tools and processes within TI Hybrid Cloud environment (AWS and On-Prem Datacenter)
Provides expert technical guidance to internal and external teams on best-practices to leverage DevOps tools.
Performs troubleshooting and incident response for DevOps tools and automation pipelines both independently and in conjunction with application and infrastructure teams, as needed.
Performs DevOps tools administration, upgrades, creating automation scripts and performance tuning.
Performs automation pipeline and Ansible playbook development and enhancements
Support DevOps tools Authority to Operate (ATO), Plan of Action & Milestones (POAM), and other security related activities.
Works with varios TI teams to ensure compliance with High Availability and Disaster Recovery related concept of operations
Ensures that DevOps provided processes/tools are effective and efficient. Suggests enhancements and improvements as needed.
Qualifications
Expert with the concepts of Infrastructure as Code and immutable infrastructure
Demonstrated experience developing and maintating complex automation capabilities using Ansible
Familiarity with both traditional and emerging system architectures (e.g., three tier, web services, micro-
services, etc.)
Experience with Linux and Tomcat Administration
Application development experience preferred in one or more high-level languages such as Python
Experience configuring and administering continuous integration/continuous deployment tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and GitHub
Experience with a service delivery ticketing tool such as Remedy
Knowledge of AWS, including security best practices and automated deployment methodologies is a plus
