Job Summary
The Assembly Operator will be responsible for aligning, calibrating, and executing test methods of varied complexity in accordance with operational plans and customer demand. This role requires working in a team-oriented, goal-focused environment, adhering to lean manufacturing principles, and maintaining regulatory compliance. The work supports the production of instruments and reagents used in hospital and laboratory environments.
Key Responsibilities Execute assembly tasks per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with supervision. Align, calibrate, and test equipment or components to meet quality and production goals. Utilize hand tools and Microsoft applications to complete daily responsibilities. Troubleshoot issues as they arise and escalate when necessary. Ensure compliance with FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO standards. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to resolve issues and support quality improvements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing principles. Train new team members in equipment operation and SOPs as needed. Maintain accurate records, complete necessary documentation, and report production status. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with all regulations and procedures.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 0–2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a regulated environment (e.g., FDA, ISO). Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English to comprehend SOPs and work instructions. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions. Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with hand tools. Experience in FDA or ISO-regulated industry.
Physical Demands Ability to stand for prolonged periods (up to 80% of the shift). Frequent use of hands to handle components and perform assembly. Ability to reach, bend, kneel, lift (up to 30 lbs), and sit as required. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Repetitive hand movements and manual dexterity required for component handling.
