KEY RESULT AREAS:

Process Technician I - Mold Hanger / Change-over Technician

Perform in-process inspections for dimensional accuracy, surface finish and visual defects, document results. Coordinate with Materials, Quality and Production teams on color changes, material lot changes and scheduling priorities. Complete required production and quality paperwork in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) or traveler. Assist and/or complete basic preventive maintenance tasks on molds, tools, and equipment. Mold Hanger / Change-over Technician

Pull and install molds using overhead crane or forklift in accordance with rigging, Lock-out/Tag-out and fall-protection SOPs. Set clamp tonnage, tie-bar spacing and safety parameters; ensure proper alignment with locating rings and ejector plates. Connect and leak-test water, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical circuits. Purge barrel, establish first-article approval and record change-over time. Maintain mold-change tooling, hoist slings, quick-connect fittings and change-over documentation; escalate wear or damage. Housekeep work area and return tools, hoses and clamps to designated storage after each change-over. Position Type:

Full-time, Non-Exempt

Knowledge & Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Essential Functions | Accountabilities | Performance Measures

The type of experience required to effectively perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this position are:

High-school diploma or GED required; technical certificate in plastics or mechatronics preferred. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. 0-2 years of experience in plastic injection molding or related manufacturing environment. Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts (company will certify within 30 days). Basic understanding of metric and imperial measurements, hand tools and mechanical fasteners. Ability to lift 50 lb, stand/walk for 12-hour shift, and work in hot environments while wearing PPE. Communication & Influence:

Communicates with contacts typically within the immediate work unit on matters that typically involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.

Problem Solving & Complexity : Problems and issues faced are routine and solutions clearly prescribed. Follows a well-established and familiar set of activities and/or process to derive a solution. May have responsibility for checking data and information for minor changes.

Physical Demands:

Wear safety attire and protective gear daily. Usually work indoors/Outdoors. This site may not be temperature controlled. Often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Are exposed to hazardous equipment on a weekly basis. May be exposed to contaminant. May share workspace with others.
