Position Overview The Lead Network Engineer drives the design, implementation, configuration, and monitoring of enterprise network solutions, ensuring high reliability and performance across the organization. This role requires collaboration with engineering teams to define project milestones and maintain network standards. As a specialist in network engineering principles and best practices, the ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and organized. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate new and emerging network technologies and provide technical recommendations. Design and implement network upgrades to improve performance and scalability. Manage daily networking tasks to guarantee network reliability and availability. Address technical support requests and resolve network issues promptly. Install and configure networking hardware such as switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi solutions. Maintain detailed network architecture documentation. Participate in compliance and risk management activities related to the network. React to alerts from network monitoring tools and troubleshoot as necessary. Lead incident responses and conduct root cause analyses for network incidents. Ensure network devices are updated with the latest firmware. Provide expert technical guidance for network designs and expansions. Implement and manage SD-WAN solutions. Support the development of network architecture standards and best practices. Consolidate relationships with external teams and vendors. Champion continuous improvement and inclusivity within the team. Deliver project updates through visual and oral presentations. Plan and strategize for future network performance improvements. Experience with Fortinet, Meraki, and Cisco products is advantageous. Understanding of fundamental networking controls and security principles. Familiarity with cloud security and architecture concepts. Knowledge of major security vendors and network protocols. Proficient in the fundamentals of operating system internals. Exhibit collaborative skills while also capable of working independently. Required Skills: Extensive knowledge of enterprise routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP). Experience with SD-WAN architecture and deployments. Familiarity with Cisco IOS and hardware features. Skills in managing firewalls and firewall rule sets (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco). Proficiency with multi-vendor platforms including Cisco and Meraki. Understanding of data center architectures and current networking trends. Ability to create technical documentation for network configurations. Experience with Cisco Wireless Controllers and configuration. Knowledge of Microsoft Azure networking is a plus. Capability to manage and deploy enterprise networking tools efficiently. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences. Willingness to travel as needed across different facilities. Education and Experience: B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a senior Network Engineer role. Over 10 years of hands-on experience in designing and supporting enterprise networks. Active Professional-tier Cisco Certification (CCNP or higher). Expert knowledge in networking technologies including Ethernet and TCP/IP. Experience with Fortinet Firewalls and SD-WAN technologies. Familiarity with data center networking technologies. Proficient in automation technologies like Python or Ansible. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with data center networking solutions. Knowledge of network automation tools and technical management. Prior work with Cisco ISE deployments. Work Environment: Position primarily involves sitting for extended periods due to its administrative nature. Work in a fast-paced environment requiring high focus and attention to detail. Ability to manage mental stress from project deadlines and high-demand tasks. Travel Requirements: Position based at the Tampa Corporate Office with travel to other facilities as necessary.
