Overview: SimVentions, a renowned employer committed to fostering a supportive work culture, is on the lookout for a skilled professional to join our team as a Cybersecurity Defense Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our cybersecurity readiness by working closely with Blue Team operations and collaborating with Red Team and Cybersecurity experts.

This position is contingent upon the award of a contract, anticipated in December of 2025. Clearance:
An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for classified information access. US Citizenship is mandatory for clearance procurement. Requirements: Extensive knowledge of computer security protocols, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies. Excellent ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively through written and verbal communication. Responsibilities: Perform system hardening across various Operating System platforms. Continuously monitor and evaluate the security posture of systems and networks, adhering to DoD cybersecurity policies and tools. Utilize MITRE ATT&CK and/or MITRE D3FEND frameworks to enhance threat detection and response strategies. Conduct sophisticated threat intelligence analysis to anticipate emerging threats and recommend appropriate actions. Execute vulnerability assessments utilizing the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and additional security tools. Analyze vulnerability findings and formulate effective remediation plans. Address identified vulnerabilities by implementing vendor patches and configuration modifications on Linux and Windows systems. Establish, implement, and maintain robust security controls across network, hardware, and software components. Preferred Skills and Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of combined professional experience in the following areas: System hardening across diverse Operating System platforms. Networking and virtualization. Application of DoD cybersecurity policies and familiarity with DoD security tools. Experience with MITRE ATT&CK or MITRE D3FEND frameworks. Capability in threat intelligence assessments and recognition of emerging threats. Proficiency in conducting vulnerability assessments using ACAS. Familiarity with remediation of vulnerabilities including application of vendor patches on both Linux and Windows Operating systems. Expertise in designing, implementing, configuring, and enforcing security controls on network, hardware, and software devices. Necessary qualifications also include a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certification from the following: CASP+ CE CCNP Security CISA CISSP (Associate) CISSP GCED GCIH CCSP Education:
Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Compensation:
At SimVentions, compensation is influenced by various factors, including experience, education, training, security clearance, location, skills, and alignment with our corporate compensation framework. The projected annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $160,000. Benefits:
